SARAH NEIL
COMMUNICATIONS AND OUTREACH COORDINATOR
INTERSTATE INSURANCE PRODUCT REGULATION COMMISSION
Sarah is the Communications and Outreach Coordinator for the Interstate Insurance Product Regulation Commission (“Insurance Compact”). Her primary responsibilities include assisting and engaging in outreach efforts with member states to promote participation in the Insurance Compact and developing content for industry representatives, Legislative Committee and Consumer Advisory Committee to promote understanding of the Insurance Compact filing platform.
Prior to joining the Insurance Compact on June 1, 2021, Sarah worked for the Rhode Island Insurance Division for almost five years. During her tenure, she was primarily responsible for reviewing policy form and rate filings for regulatory compliance with Rhode Island insurance law, with a focus on life insurance, annuity, credit, long-term care, and legal services product lines. Her other responsibilities included public information officer, consumer services, complaint handling, subject matter expertise in market conduct matters, and website maintenance. Additionally, Sarah represented Rhode Island in several National Association of Insurance Commissioners (“NAIC”) Working Groups and Insurance Compact Committees, including the Product Standards Committee where she served as Vice Chair from 2020-2021.
Sarah has a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Providence College and a Master's Degree in Public Adminstration from Roger Williams University. Starting as a customer service representative, Sarah held numerous roles in the insurance industry prior to joining the Rhode Island Insurance Division, including claims handling, transaction processing, compliance, and form filings of life and annuity products.
