Update on Completion of the SOI
This week we wanted to give an update regarding the completion of the Statement of Intent (SOI) for Compact filing submissions. Some filers may have noticed the template functionality is not available in new SERFF as in SERFF Legacy. We wanted to advise that the SERFF Team is working on making this functionality available shortly. Until this functionality is introduced, please note filers are permitted to make their submissions without fully completing the SOI Schedule. However, once the functionality is available, filers will be required to update their SOI with the required information.
It is important to note a few things.
First, due to the technology in the new SERFF system, at least one line of the SOI must be completed in order for the Pre-Submission Check to properly operate and permit you to make your submission.
Second, does the SOI for your filings include old forms and not ones that are relatively new? If filers wanted to refer to a specific filing(s) that has the same SOI information – especially if this information is a bit voluminous – please associate the filing and provide this information in the Filing Description.
Third, if your filing includes mix and match, you may be asked to upload an excel file with the information if this functionality is not available by the time your submission is ready for approval.
The Compact will refer user management and platform questions to the SERFF team. Reach out to the SERFF team via email serffmodernizationquestions@naic.org.
If you have any questions about the SOI submission requirements, please reach out to the Compact Office via comments@insurancecompact.org.
