The SERFF Team kicks off their company filer training next week ahead of SERFF Modernization being available on Monday, November 11th. Space is limited and focused on a “train the trainer” approach. Make sure you have someone on your team signed up for the training. Your Team’s Trainer should reach out to serffmodernizationquestions@naic.org if they are interested in participating in the SERFF training.

In this week’s tip, we wanted to highlight a few differences regarding to the terminology used in SERFF now vs. SERFF modernization. 

Filing Correspondence is now located under “Filing Review.”

Objections are now “Compliance Issues” and can be responded to individually. Compliance Issues are provided in a “Compliance Report” and each Issue is identified in the Compliance Report. This change recognizes that sometimes the reviewer is asking for information or confirmation, not necessarily requiring action in the items filed for review.

The Message Center is replaced with Tasks and optional email notifications. There is also expanded ability to search and save search filters. The Compact Team is already training to optimize our use of the new functionality in filing review workflows.
