New Guidance on Non-Employer Groups
Filing Information Notice 2025-1 was published last week in preparation for the expansion of Group Life Uniform Standards to groups other than employer groups. FIN 2025-1 details the filing process and responsibilities of the company filer using the Compact to file forms for use with Non-Employer Groups authorized by Compact States. Specifically, filers will find new SERFF submission requirements in Compact filings for Group Term and Whole Life submissions. The guidance also addresses how to expand the use of previously approved products for Non-Employer Groups.
On February 10th, new amendments become effective for using the Group Term and Group Whole Life Insurance Uniform Standards for Non-Employer Groups. The same framework will apply to Group Disability Income Insurance Uniform Standards, for which new amendments become effective on March 3rd.
