Mix and Match of Individual Disability Income Applications
Recently the Insurance Compact Office received a question from a filer inquiring about whether or not it was acceptable for a Compact approved individual disability income (IDI) application to include check boxes for products or benefits approved by the states but not available for filing with the Compact.
The answer is yes. The Insurance Compact?s Individual Disability Income Insurance Application Standards do permit mix and match and allow variability for plan information. There may be a checkbox for the state approved product or additional benefit that may not be submitted for review under the Insurance Compact Uniform Standards. The application may not have specific questions for anything that does not have a specific Insurance Compact Uniform Standards.??
As a reminder, IDI forms should be submitted under the IDI TOI.
If you have any questions about the IDI Uniform Standards, or about the Insurance Compact in general, please contact the Insurance Compact Office.
