The District of Columbia Available for Filing in 3-2-1

We are counting down the days until the District of Columbia will be available to add to Compact product filing submissions on March 21st. In this weekly tip, we offer three things to note about our newest member jurisdiction.

3

The District of Columbia has opted out of the Long-Term Care Insurance Uniform Standards, but you can prepare to add the District of Columbia to your product filings for all other available product lines.

2

The District of Columbia does not charge state filing fees. When you add the District of Columbia to your approved product filings, neither state filing fees nor Compact filing fees will be due.

Do you plan to utilize Mix and Match when you add the District of Columbia to your pending or approved Compact product filings? No problem!

Be sure to review the Mix and Match guidance in conjunction with the District of Columbia?s participation, issued in last week?s tip. Data may be added to the Statement of Intent tab even if there have been no other state-approved forms or products being used for the other states already on the filing.

If you have any questions about adding a state to your Compact filing, or about the Insurance Compact in general, please contact the Insurance Compact Office.
